16What’s in your Christmas card?
Tagged Under : Christmas cards

I’ve been writing Christmas cards for days. I’m sending them out for the first time in YEARS….yes years. Someone asked me what the big deal is about Christmas cards. For me, it says even though I haven’t seen or spoken to you in a while, maybe even years, I thought about you for a moment.
Who wouldn’t want to know they were thought about for even just a moment? I would. So what’s in my Christmas cards? Love. Ok, don’t gag…I really love my friends and family. ;0)

Hey Ze, I love giving Christmas cards! Every year I paint my own Christmas card I’m an artist and I always paint a watercolor scene of a winter landscape. I’ve done this now for at least the past 7-9 years. After I’ve painted my card I bring it to our local print shop(not Staples, tried that one year and never again) and have my picture copied into cards. They will fold them and then I buy the envelopes to go with and then I mail them out. It is kind of a “gift” too for most people, because they’ve been waiting to see what my card will be for each year. Like you said inside my card is love and some people will even frame them and bring them out every year. So that is one of my favorite and special thing that I do like to give to my family and friends. My only problem lately is someone will say I’ve heard about your homemade Christmas cards, and I’d love to be put on your list. With the cost of stamps and the copying it does get a little high in revenue but it’s only one time of year, and it is a special time of the year.
I have a comment off subject from a previous post of yours. I am a little upset with your bragging about the temps where you are, 60’s - 70’s give me a break girl… we just went through a ice storm here and lost our electricity for only one day, but as of today there are people going on to their fifth day. So I’m heading South!!! lol
JJ ~ I like to paint as well….I’m no where good enough to put it on a Christmas card though.
I like being creative though…sketching, painting, writing. It’s a way to release stress for me. Seems like you concentrate so hard and are so focused that everything else around you fades. One year I drew/made all my Christmas cards. Everyone loved them. I couldn’t afford to give gifts so I did that and made cookies and everyone loved them. Well…now I don’t feel so hokey saying my cards are filled with love.
I sent you an email about the weather….in all seriousness I know a few people up North and ice storms are scarey….so be safe!!
I’m definitely going to be sending out some cards this year to some affiliate managers, domain parking managers, and some family&friends… just as a friendly gesture.
I just had to comment on the blog after your comment on mine–especially when you mentioned that Patrick was your husband… hilarious! I was reading his newest post while checking the dashboard to my blog… LOL! I’m a huge fan of his “cookings”!
Thanks a bunch for the comment & Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Sammy ~ I helped Patrick send out many many many cards to people in the domain world. He thinks it’s important to nurture those relationships. So you’re on the right track with that.
Funny how domaining is global, but what a small world it is. We randomly got connected somehow and turns out you’re a fan of his work. He works really hard on that blog. He works hard on everything. He doesn’t do stuff half assed. I’m glad it’s paying off and you’re a fan.
Come back and visit. I’m sure I’ll have more pics of Garfield up soon.
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!
